Shonen, or Shounen is a Japanese word literally means few years with a general meaning that refers to an ordinary kid or a boy going to elementary education to high school years. Commonly used as a day to day conversation referring to the length of youth, but not limited to boy or young male but can also be use to a girl or young female but generally Sh?jo is more likely the term preferred for a girl or a young female than Shonen.
